Privacy policy
Blackout Exotics only asks for the details needed to handle local pickup and delivery requests, shipped supply purchases, accounts, support messages, availability alerts, and receipts.
What the site collects
Name, email, optional phone number, account details, cart items, appointment notes, delivery address when delivery is requested, messages tied to a request, support messages, availability alert notes, and receipt records. Supply purchases also include the recipient's full name, email, shipping address, selected products and quantities, order history, tracking information, and payment references.
How it is used
To process supply purchases, arrange shipping, send order and tracking updates, handle returns and refunds, reply to pickup and delivery requests, answer support messages, confirm pickup or delivery appointments, keep request history, send receipts or alerts, and reduce spam or no-shows. If you opt in to appointment texts or choose a best way to reply, those notes are used for appointment timing and same-day updates.
Availability alerts
Stock alerts, saved-cart reminders, and repeat-order reminders are optional. Each promotional email includes our business mailing address and links to stop that notification or all promotional emails without signing in. Order confirmations, receipts, appointment updates, and account-security emails are separate. We keep a protected opt-out identifier to honor a request to stop promotional emails.
What is not sold
Customer information is not sold. We share information with service providers as needed to operate the website, process payments, send email, and handle orders and support, or when disclosure is legally required.
Staying signed in
The site uses necessary cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session. Browser storage remembers your cart and preferences. If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your account identifier, name, and email to connect your account; we do not receive your Google password.
Cart storage
Signed-out local carts stay in that browser. A supply-cart cookie identifies a cart stored on our server; it contains product choices and quantities, not card details. After login, current cart items are saved with the customer account so the same login can continue on another device. A saved cart does not hold stock.
Cart reminders
A confirmed customer can explicitly ask for one saved-cart email. It waits about 24 hours after the last cart change, checks current listings again, and does not include private address details. The site keeps the listing IDs and quantities included in that email so the owner can see when the same cart later becomes a request. That reminder history is included in the customer's records download. The reminder can be turned off from the cart or signed email link.
Browser alerts
Signed-in customers can choose to receive browser alerts on a device. The alert uses general wording and never shows a name, item list, price, phone number, or private address details. Turning alerts off, logging out, or closing the account removes that device from the account.
Site activity totals
The site counts one visit per open browser tab and keeps daily totals for public page views, cart adds, and request forms started. It does not save a visitor ID, cookie, name, IP address, email, account ID, browser fingerprint, or exact referrer link, and Do Not Track is honored.
Your records
Logged-in customers can download their saved account details, current cart, pickup and delivery requests and their messages, support messages, receipts, and availability alerts from the account page. Supply orders placed while signed in appear in Your supply orders; guest purchases use the private link emailed after payment. Contact support to request access to or deletion of supply-purchase data, which is stored separately from the local-request account export.
Payments and service providers
Stripe receives payment information directly at its checkout and processes card payments and applicable tax using your name, email, order contents, and relevant billing or shipping address. We retain payment references, status, totals, and receipt records, not your full card number or security code. For shipped supplies, the supplier or fulfillment partner responsible for an order receives the recipient name, shipping address, ordered items and quantities, and any contact details needed for fulfillment or delivery. Our hosting and email providers process information needed to run the site and deliver messages. Google and Stripe also handle information under their own privacy policies.
When you check local delivery, we send the street, city, state, and ZIP to Geoapify to locate the address and calculate a driving route. We do not send your name, email, phone, apartment/unit, or cart to Geoapify. Estimates are temporarily cached in server memory, and an accepted estimate is saved with the order. Geoapify privacy policy.
Addresses and security
Local-delivery and supply-shipping addresses are used to arrange delivery or shipment, calculate tax, process payment, and resolve order problems. Access is limited to the owner and service or fulfillment providers who need the information. They are not published in public listings. Security and hosting logs may include technical information such as IP addresses to investigate abuse and protect the service; these are separate from anonymous site activity totals.
How long information stays
Supply orders, shipping details, payment references, and fulfillment records are kept as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Contact support about deletion; records still needed for these purposes cannot always be deleted immediately. Chats are archived when a request is completed or closed. Automatic cleanup removes their messages after 90 days in the archive, while order, payment, and receipt records remain where needed for sales records, disputes, and legal obligations. Unwanted chats may be removed sooner. Deleted information may remain in restricted backup copies until those backups rotate out. Deleting a site account does not delete records Stripe must retain.
Changing your email
A new account email must be confirmed from the new inbox. After confirmation, customer records move to the new address and older signed-in sessions are ended.
Owner notes
Private notes may be kept for appointment reliability, safety, support history, animal follow-up, and do-not-sell decisions. Private animal check-in answers are not used as public appointment notes.
Closing an account
After open pickup and delivery requests are finished or canceled, customers who use a password or Google can close their account from the account page by confirming their login. Customers who sign in only with email codes can request account closure through support; support will verify the request before making changes. The login, cart, alerts, request messages, support messages, contact details, and customer notes are removed. Completed local-order, payment, and required tax records remain without customer contact details. Supply-purchase records are separate; contact support to review their retention or request deletion.
